The pistachios were sold nationwide and in Canada under the brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms and Trader Joe’s.
Wonderful Pistachios voluntarily recalled on March 9 a limited number of flavors and sizes of in-shell and shelled pistachios that are sold nationwide after a salmonella outbreak. Eleven people in nine states were infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Montevideo linked to the nuts, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The states involved were Connecticut, Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Virginia and Washington, The Associated Press reported. Two people have been hospitalized.
